Kirike’s history – the story of three friends
Kirike Oy was established in 1982 by a group of three friends. When the company employing the founding partners at the time went bankrupt, the men decided to trust their own competence and employ themselves. The group purchased a number of machines from the bankruptcy estate and rented facilities from Outokumpu Industrial Park.
Being located in the mining town of Outokumpu, the company initially focused on the mining industry. Over the decades, Kirike has grown exponentially and the company currently focuses on the production of various welded, machined and painted part assemblies for work machines.
They say history repeats itself, which is exactly what has happened with Kirike. The company went through a generational change between 2008 and 2013 with a new set of three friends stepping in to manage the company’s operations. This ensured that Kirike will keep forging onward for decades to come.
The spirit of friendship that is so prevalent in Kirike’s story is evident to this day in the strong emphasis of genuine partnership with customers. Alongside the owners, the company now employs a wide range of other experts and contributes to maintaining the local traditions of Outokumpu by doing traditional smith work with modern methods.
We would love to have you as a Kirike partner!
